In January and February of this year I read the three books by Jenny Han about Lara Jean #1 To all the boys I've loved before, #2 P.S. I still Love You, #3 Always and Forever, Lara Jean. I read these books on my e-reader and because I knew that they would also be made into movies, I almost read them back to back so that I could watch the movies on Netflix right away!

#1 begins with the story of Lara Jean. Lara Jean is a typical teenage girl, very creative in scrapbooking and baking and who has had a number of crushes on boys in her life. She just never expressed her love to these crushes, she writes a letter to these guys at the end of her crush and puts them in a box in her closet. One day, Lara Jean finds out that the letters are no longer in the box and the boys confront her about the letters. Lara Jean must figure out how these letters were sent and deal with the boys.

I thought it was a nice book to read. I can very much identify with a girl like Lara Jean because I also like baking and other creative things. Also, as a teenage girl I had crushes on boys that I never dared to express. Because I could very much empathize with the character, I found it a very nice book to read and to find out if there is a bright future from revealing these secrets. A wonderful romantic book to dream away with!

If you still want to read the series I would stop reading here as there are spoilers about the first book in the second book!!

#2 The second book picks up where the first book left off. Lara Jean and Peter have made a deal in the first book, but will it stay as they discussed? The second book is really full of wonderfully romantic, and sometimes unexpected, drama. Can Lara Jean choose between the guys who are in her life right now? Can she make the right choices?

This was another wonderful book with dilemmas that several teenage girls must have had to deal with. Another great romantic book that read very quickly.

#3 Fun things are on the agenda in the third and final book of the Lara Jean trilogy, a trip to New York City, Prom, Beach Week after graduation, and her father's and neighbor's wedding. All fun things that Lara Jean is really looking forward to. But do the dreams come true and does everything turn out as Lara Jean expected? A book full of expectations, adjustments, and good outcomes.

This book was again a wonderful book to get lost in. Here too there is an important theme, namely expectations and reality. Because expectations are fine to have, but what do you do when these expectations do not become reality? How can you switch when a plan doesn't work out the way you expected it to? I also found this to be a very recognizable book and I also really empathize with Lara Jean here. Because everyone experiences it once in a while when plans don't go the way you expected; and what do you do about it, how do you deal with it?

All in all, this series is highly recommended. I loved to read these books and dream away in the romanticized world of Lara Jean with her scrapbooks and her chocolate chip cookies (which I also love!). Definitely a must read. I give this series 4 stars because they were nice books but sometimes a bit predictable and very romanticized.
