The Earth-shattering and irresistibly delicious story of Tony's Chocolonely is the story of Tony's (yes I'll abbreviate it or we will never get on to the actual review). It is a substantial book in which we gain insight into the origins of Tony's and what setbacks they have encountered to get to where they actually are today.
In general, I don't read that many non-fiction books; but this was one that has been in my bookcase for a very long time. I think I found this book at a book fair once and haven't read it since. But, as I wrote before, this year it is also time to read some TBR books and which book is tastier than this one? Of course I read this book with a cup of tea and a Tony's bar by my side.
The book is about the founders of Tony's, how they came up with the idea and how they tried to execute it as well as possible. Of course they encountered a lot of setbacks. Nevertheless, it is very impressive what they have finally achieved. I found the book interesting but found it difficult to get through at times. The writing style was sometimes a bit difficult to follow, I'm also a fiction fan of course, so I had to get used to this. Nevertheless, it was nice to read and good to see that the company also takes a critical look at itself.
All in all, an interesting book to read about the founding of Tony's, of which a documentary was also made afterwards which is slightly easier to watch. This is why this book got 4 stars from me.
